How to identify a Deildegast in Phasmophobia
Destructoid has published a guide explaining how players can identify the Deildegast, a ghost type added to the multiplayer horror game Phasmophobia on 21 July 2026. The guide is aimed at helping players recognise the entity's evidence and behaviour so they can correctly identify it during investigations, which is central to progressing in contracts.
The Deildegast can be identified through three evidence types: Ghost Writing, EMF Level Five and DOTS Projector, all of which are obtainable in standard contracts, though some weekly challenges or custom matches may restrict evidence availability. Beyond formal evidence, the ghost has distinctive behavioural traits: it moves quickly at roughly three metres per second, nearly matching the Revenant's speed, and becomes fixated on misplaced items, meaning players can deliberately move multiple house items (not their own equipment) outside of hunts to slow it down.
