BBC Sport · 6 hours ago

Middlesbrough have agreed a fee with Tottenham Hotspur for striker Will Lankshear, in a deal that could rise to a club-record £20m for the Championship side. The initial fee is around £10m, with a further £10m dependent on add-ons and incentives, though personal terms have yet to be finalised amid reported interest from rival clubs.

The 21-year-old England youth international spent last season on loan at Oxford United, scoring 11 goals in 44 Championship appearances, having earlier impressed for Spurs' youth sides after joining from Sheffield United in 2022. He made his senior debut for Tottenham in October 2024 and would become Middlesbrough's fourth summer signing, following the free transfer arrivals of Miles Peart-Harris, Jeremy Sarmiento and Kyle Joseph, and comes after the club sold midfielder Hayden Hackney to Everton for about £16m.
