Darkwave duo Boy Harsher have announced their new album Get Mean, due for release on 18 September on Atlantic Records, alongside the release of new single "Hard Beat". It marks the first full album from Jae Matthews and Augustus Muller since 2019's Careful, and follows the end of the pair's romantic relationship, adding a personal dimension for fans of the electronic act.

The announcement follows last month's teaser track "Jeans", with "Hard Beat" accompanied by a horror-inspired music video featuring Matthews in a decrepit room, filmed through an old video recorder and drawing visual cues from films such as Saw and The Ring. The 12-track album also includes songs titled "Ronny", "Break Me", "Tough Luck (When You Don't Call)", "Ice Pick (Walk Away)" and "Bleed", among others, and is now available for pre-order.
