Mongolian folk-metal band The Hu have released their third studio album, "Hun," which sees the group further blending traditional Mongolian instrumentation with heavy metal to strengthen their cross-cultural appeal. Following recent support slots with Iron Maiden, the record is viewed by the reviewer as a deliberate step towards mainstream acceptance, building on the momentum of their first two acclaimed albums and growing live reputation since their emergence in 2019.

The eleven-track album, released via Better Noise, earned a score of 7.5/10 from Blabbermouth reviewer Dom Lawson. Standout moments include the opener "Warrior Chant," "The Men" and "Horsemen," alongside two more contemplative detours, "Echoes of My Father" and "Universe," which showcase frontman Galaa moving beyond his usual throat-singing style. The review notes some weaker points, including a guest feature with Jonny Hawkins of Nothing More that feels "laboured," but concludes "Hun" is the band's strongest record to date.
