Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi and Ozzy Osbourne's widow, Sharon Osbourne, have marked the first anniversary of the singer's death with public tributes. Ozzy died on 22 July 2025, just over two weeks after Black Sabbath's reunion concert "Back To The Beginning" at Villa Park in Birmingham, and his passing continues to be commemorated by fans and his home city a year on.

Iommi wrote on social media that he still finds it hard to believe Ozzy is gone, recalling their weekly phone calls and expressing gratitude for having played one final show together with Black Sabbath's original line-up. Sharon told the BBC that fans should remember Ozzy by playing music loudly, describing him as authentic and genuine. Birmingham City Council has also launched the first annual "Ozzy Day", a free city-wide programme of live music, public art and performances, including sets from Bostin Brass and the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra, visits to sites linked to Osbourne's life, and a limited-edition shirt listing all 52 shows he played in the city.
