A 16-year-old girl has described watching two friends die after the car they were travelling in left the road and landed upside down in a water-filled ditch, trapping them inside as it flooded. She survived after her father, tracking her location using the Life360 app, was able to pinpoint the crash site and reach her in time to pull her from the vehicle, though he was unable to save the other occupants.

The teenager recounted being unable to help her trapped friends as the car filled with water, describing the ordeal as one of the most traumatic experiences of her life. Her father's use of the Life360 tracking app proved decisive in locating the remote crash site quickly, allowing him to rescue his daughter before emergency services arrived, though the incident has left the family and community grappling with the loss of the other young victims.
