Apple TV has secured the television rights to adapt "Peculiar Stars," the forthcoming novel by "Fourth Wing" author Rebecca Yarros, before the book has even been published. Yarros will executive produce through her Full Measures Productions banner, though a writer for the adaptation has yet to be attached. The deal underlines the strength of Yarros's commercial appeal, as streamers compete to lock down rights to her work well ahead of publication.

"Peculiar Stars" is due for release in November and is currently available for pre-order, with its logline describing a woman stranded on a deserted island with a member of her fiancé's family after a cyclone, and the complications that follow their rescue. Yarros's existing "Fourth Wing" series, part of her Empyrean romantasy books that have sold more than 30 million copies, is separately being adapted by Amazon's Prime Video, now greenlit with Meredith Averill as showrunner after Moira Walley-Beckett departed. The acquisition adds to Apple TV's slate alongside returning hits such as "Ted Lasso" and "Severance," and shows including "Pluribus" and "Widow's Bay," which lead all series in nominations for the 2026 Emmy Awards.
