Billie Joe Armstrong and Epiphone Unveil Les Paul Junior in Radiant Red
Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has partnered with Epiphone to launch a limited-edition signature guitar, the Billie Joe Armstrong Les Paul Junior in radiant red. Priced at $649, the instrument is aimed at being an accessible entry point for beginner guitarists, and it becomes the latest addition to Epiphone's growing roster of Green Day signature models.
The guitar keeps things deliberately simple, with a single pickup and two control knobs for tone and volume. It features a mahogany body and neck, a rosewood fretboard with 22 jumbo frets, an Epiphone E-90 pickup, and a Lightning Bar wraparound bridge, and is available now through Epiphone or Reverb. It follows bassist Mike Dirnt's signature Grabber G-3 in the band's line-up of Epiphone instruments, and comes as Green Day prepare to release the soundtrack to their upcoming film NIMRODS on 31st July, ahead of its 14th August cinema release, while Armstrong's side project Pinhead Gunpowder gears up for a North American tour in October.
