Madison Square Garden reportedly switched off its internal surveillance and facial-recognition systems during Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding celebrations, following what an internal memo described as a client privacy request. The move is notable because sources told Wired such an exemption had not previously been granted to other major private-event clients, raising further questions about the venue’s use of biometric monitoring.

The systems were reportedly disabled for seven hours on 2 July, during the rehearsal dinner, and again for the ceremony on 3 July, while external-facing cameras remained active. Guests allegedly entered through a private entrance that bypassed biometric scanners; the report follows a leak of MSG’s internal celebrity database, which reportedly assigned risk ratings and recorded sensitive personal characteristics for almost 40,000 people.
