‘House of the Dragon’ Star Is Officially the Next Joker
Matthew Needham, known for House of the Dragon, has been cast as the Joker in the second series of Prime Video’s animated Batman: Caped Crusader. The announcement, made at San Diego Comic-Con, introduces a new voice for Batman’s most famous adversary and signals the character’s return to the noir-inspired reimagining of Batman’s early years.
Needham revealed the casting during a panel that also debuted a first-look image of the Joker and screened the opening episode of the new series. He follows actors including Mark Hamill, Troy Baker, Richard Epcar and John DiMaggio in playing the role; Batman: Caped Crusader is produced by Warner Bros. Animation, DC Studios, Bad Robot Productions and 6th & Idaho, with J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves and Bruce Timm among its executive producers.
