A Los Angeles court heard testimony that D4vd’s DNA was allegedly present on a rubbish bag containing wipes linked to the blood of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, whose remains were found in his Tesla in 2025. The evidence could be significant in the murder case against the singer, David Anthony Burke, although his defence argues the DNA findings are not definitive and that transfer can occur without direct contact.

A police criminalist said Burke’s DNA was included in a four-person mixture on the outer bag, while DNA on a wipe inside it was three trillion times more likely to be Rivas’s than an unknown person’s. Rivas’s DNA was also reportedly found on items in Burke’s garage and in a rear compartment of his Tesla; prosecutors allege he stabbed and later dismembered her, while Burke has pleaded not guilty to murder, child sexual abuse and mutilating human remains.
