Prosecutors allege Burke began sexually abusing Hernandez when she was 13 and he was 18, and later killed her after she threatened to expose their relationship. They say her decomposed remains were found in a Tesla registered to him in September 2025, while other testimony described alleged online purchases of a body bag, chainsaws, an inflatable pool and a shovel; the medical examiner said decomposition made the exact time of death difficult to establish.
