Roxette Cancels 40th Anniversary Tour of North American Amphitheaters, Citing ‘Hugely Increased Touring Costs’

Roxette’s planned 40th-anniversary North American tour has been cancelled, although the band describes it as postponed. The group said Live Nation US made the decision because of logistical issues and sharply increased touring costs, disappointing fans and raising questions about demand for the revived act without late singer Marie Fredriksson.

The tour was due to run from 10 September to 9 October, beginning in Michigan and ending in Washington state, with Taylor Dayne and Nick Lowe also on the bill. Ticket-holders are being refunded, while some overseas fans said they had already paid for non-refundable travel; Per Gessle said the United States remains Roxette’s biggest streaming market and hoped the band could return.
