House of the Dragon’s third season is reported to be performing strongly for HBO and HBO Max, topping FlixPatrol’s global streaming rankings for six consecutive weeks after its 21 June debut. The result suggests the Game of Thrones prequel has renewed audience momentum following a less warmly received second season.

Its opening episode attracted more than 20 million viewers in its first three days, despite being 8% below the Season 2 premiere. Season 3 has a 90% critics’ score, matching the series’ previous high, while the second episode, “Queen’s Landing”, was described as a critical peak after the Battle of the Gullet.

  • House of the Dragon leads global streaming charts six weeks into Season 3.
  • The premiere exceeded 20 million viewers despite an 8% year-on-year decline.
  • Critics have awarded Season 3 a 90% score.
