Sony has announced that God of War Laufey will launch on PlayStation 5 on 16 February 2027. The game shifts the series’ focus from Kratos to his wife Laufey, or Faye, as she travels through the gods’ afterlife following her death in God of War Ragnarök, expanding a character whose fighting abilities have previously only been implied.

The release date was confirmed at San Diego Comic-Con and through PlayStation’s social media accounts. Earlier gameplay footage showed Faye using aerial attacks and magic against unfamiliar gods and creatures, while Santa Monica Studio also confirmed that a separate Kratos-led God of War game will follow; for now, Laufey is available only to wishlist.
