The film stars Ryan Reynolds as an SR-71 Blackbird pilot downed over the Soviet wilderness in 1987, who is rescued by Nikolai Ustinov, an ex-intelligence officer portrayed by Kenneth Branagh. Ustinov, a devoted fan of American pop culture, must help the pilot navigate hostile territory and reach safety before Soviet forces capture them.

The clip screened at the convention showcased the film's blend of action and humour, depicting an elaborate escape in which Ustinov uses improvised methods—a trash can in an elevator, a rigged gas stove, and an axe-made hole—to trap pursuing KGB agents and allow their getaway. The production emphasises creative problem-solving and comedic timing as its protagonists race against time, with the film set to premiere on the streaming service on September 4.
