Prime Video and director Mike Flanagan have released a teaser trailer and confirmed that all eight episodes of their new television adaptation of Stephen King's *Carrie* will premiere on 7 October, unveiled ahead of the show's panel at San Diego Comic-Con. The series expands on King's 1974 debut novel about a bullied teenager who discovers she has telekinetic powers, and marks the first time the story has been adapted specifically for television.

New key art referencing the story's infamous bloody prom scene was shared alongside the teaser, which Prime Video says hints at "new dimensions still to come." Summer Howell stars as Carrie White, alongside Samantha Sloyan as her mother Margaret, with a supporting cast including Siena Agudong, Matthew Lillard and Amber Midthunder. Flanagan serves as showrunner, writer and executive producer, directing four episodes himself, while King is also an executive producer on the Amazon MGM Studios production.
