Apple TV has released the first trailer for "Matchbox the Movie," unveiled during the streamer's panel at San Diego Comic-Con, giving audiences their first look at the action-comedy inspired by Mattel's toy car brand. The film reunites director Sam Hargrave, known for the "Extraction" franchise, with a starry ensemble cast, marking another attempt by Mattel Studios to translate its toy properties into big-screen entertainment following the success of "Barbie."

John Cena leads the film as Sean, a man whose group of longtime friends discover he is secretly a CIA agent after a nuclear warhead goes missing and they become the chief suspects. Jessica Biel, Arturo Castro, Sam Richardson, Teyonah Parris, Danai Gurira, Golshifteh Farahani, Corey Stoll and Bill Camp round out the cast, with a screenplay by David Coggeshall and producers including Skydance's David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Don Granger alongside Mattel Studios' Robbie Brenner and Ynon Kreiz. "Matchbox the Movie" begins streaming on Apple TV from 9 October.
