Prime Video's sci-fi series Blade Runner 2099 will not be returning for a second season, Collider has confirmed exclusively, settling long-standing speculation about whether the show would become an ongoing franchise. Despite being set in Ridley Scott's celebrated Blade Runner universe, the series has instead been conceived as a limited, self-contained run rather than the multi-season format typical of many big-budget streaming productions.

The show is set in the year 2099 and features an ensemble cast including Michelle Yeoh as Olwen, Hunter Schafer as Cora, Tom Burke as Rev, Dimitri Abold as Preston, Lewis Gribben as Puck, Maurizio Lombardi as Voss, Daniel Rigby as Skeleton and Isa Briones as Nix.
