Netflix will remove Scarlett Johansson's 2014 sci-fi thriller "Lucy" from its library on 31 July, marking the end of its run on the streaming platform after several months of availability. The film, directed by Luc Besson, has long been considered one of Johansson's biggest financial successes outside the Marvel Cinematic Universe, making its departure notable for fans of her broader filmography.

Made on a modest $40 million budget, "Lucy" grossed $469 million worldwide, earning back its costs more than 11 times over despite mixed critical reception. The film also stars Morgan Freeman, Choi Min-sik, Pilou Asbæk and Amr Waked. The news comes as Johansson continues to expand her comic-book credentials, having reportedly been cast alongside Sebastian Stan in Matt Reeves' upcoming Batman sequel, now slated for 2028, while her status in "Avengers: Doomsday" remains unconfirmed.
