Actor Morgan Spector, best known for playing George Russell in HBO's The Gilded Age, has been cast as Robert Langdon in a new Netflix series based on Dan Brown's 2025 novel The Secret of Secrets. The show, created by Brown and Carlton Cuse (who also serves as showrunner), sees Spector become the third performer to portray the famous symbologist on screen, following Tom Hanks's three film outings and Ashley Zukerman's turn in Peacock's prequel series The Lost Symbol.

Netflix secured the rights to the series in May 2025 following a bidding war, ahead of the novel's publication. The as-yet-untitled show will follow Langdon as he races to rescue a missing scientist and her groundbreaking manuscript, blending futuristic science with mystical lore. Cuse and Brown are executive producing alongside Emma Forman of Genre-Arts and Zoe Robyn. Spector's other credits include Netflix's Black Rabbit and HBO's The Plot Against America, and he continues in The Gilded Age, whose fourth season is due this autumn.
