At San Diego Comic-Con 2026, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige used the studio's Hall H panel to confirm a new Ghost Rider film, revealing that Ryan Gosling will star in the role he had long expressed interest in playing. The announcement came during a presentation that also teased the future of the MCU and confirmed Avengers: Endgame would return to cinemas ahead of Avengers: Doomsday, making the Ghost Rider reveal one of the biggest surprises of the day.

The new film will be directed by Shawn Levy, best known for Deadpool and Wolverine, reuniting him with Gosling following their work together on the upcoming Star Wars: Starfighter. Levy told the SDCC crowd that the project grew out of conversations the pair had while making Starfighter, as Gosling shared his vision for the Ghost Rider character. Levy confirmed the film is scheduled for release in 2028.
