New Mike Leigh, Pablo Larrain Films in San Sebastian Competition

San Sebastian film festival has revealed new additions to its 2026 competition line-up, including films from Mike Leigh, Pablo Larrain and Hans Petter Moland, all vying for the festival's top prize, the Golden Shell. The announcement adds several high-profile names to an already strong slate ahead of the event, which takes place in September.

Leigh's British drama Tender Loving Care, Moland's Growth of the Soil and Larrain's Netflix mini-series My Sad Dead, being screened as a single four-hour feature, join other newly revealed competition entries such as Nicole Garcia's Milo, starring Marion Cotillard, and Maha Harada's directorial debut In My Father's Room. Previous festival winners Benjamín Naishtat and Yeşim Ustaoğlu also return with new work, alongside three previously announced Spanish films and a range of out-of-competition and special screenings. The 74th San Sebastián Festival runs from 18 to 26 September 2026.
