Perplexity has extended its agentic "Personal Computer" tool to Windows, letting the operating system's PCs function as locally run AI agents that can access files and apps to complete tasks such as drafting documents or updating spreadsheets. This matters because it follows the April launch of the Mac version and pushes Perplexity further into enterprise workflows, aiming to bring AI capability directly into Windows environments where much day-to-day office work still happens outside AI's reach.

The Windows launch builds on Personal Computer's existing integrations with Microsoft 365 apps and Teams, introduced in May, and is designed to let users work across local files, Office 365 and the web from a single interface. It is rolling out today to subscribers on Perplexity's Max and Enterprise Max tiers, which start at $200 a month, and the company says the tool does not train on customer data and will always seek user confirmation before taking sensitive actions like sending emails or deleting files.
