Nexus Mods CEO Victor Folmann has published a reflection marking one year since Danish firm Chosen took over the modding site from founder Robin "Dark0ne" Scott. The post outlines progress made so far and sets out a long-term ambition for Nexus Mods to become "an operating system for user-generated content in gaming", moving beyond simply hosting mod files to managing the complex systems, dependencies and conflicts that underpin them.

Folmann noted that staff numbers have grown from around 42 to 75 (87 including new hires yet to start) over the year, with work including a redesigned mod upload form, better detection of viruses and child sexual abuse material, and various community "modathons". He acknowledged he "didn't fully appreciate the scope" of the project when he joined, and described the year as one of laying groundwork and learning from the modding community, while pushing a vision similar to GOG's one-click mods and Nexus's existing "collections" feature, aimed at reducing the technical hassle of installing and managing mods.
