‘Sweet Magnolias’ Alum Carson Rowland Joins Rachel Zegler in ‘NDA’ (Exclusive)

The Hollywood Reporter · 4 hours ago

Actor Carson Rowland, best known for playing Ty Townsend in Netflix's "Sweet Magnolias," has joined the independent film "NDA" in a lead role alongside Rachel Zegler, Penn Badgley and Amy Ryan. The Bleecker Street-backed project, currently filming in New York, marks the directorial debut of Audrey Ellis Fox, working from her own script that featured on the 2024 Black List, an annual survey of well-regarded unproduced screenplays.

"NDA" follows Dana (played by Zegler), who spends a fraught day in mediation after lodging a workplace harassment complaint, grappling with questions of silence and truth as a deadline looms. Rowland left "Sweet Magnolias" ahead of its fifth season, which aired in June, though a return for a potential sixth season has not been ruled out. He has also recently filmed a recurring role in the pilot for NBC's "The Rockford Files" and previously appeared in "The Beauty" and the "Pretty Little Liars" reboot, alongside producing credits including "The Testaments of Ann Lee."
