Ted Lasso is returning for a fourth season on Apple TV, marking a significant shift from the show's original premise. Despite Jason Sudeikis previously stating the series would end after three seasons, the show is coming back with Ted, Rebecca (Hannah Waddingham) and Roy Kent (Brett Goldstein) now managing a newly formed women's team, the Lady Greyhounds, rather than the men's AFC Richmond squad.

The new season is expected to explore the disparities facing women's football, including reduced funding, poorer facilities and less media coverage compared with the men's game. Several new cast members have joined to lead the women's team, including Tanya Reynolds as coach Alice Chilton, Abbie Hern as striker Gemma, Jude Mack as goalkeeper Boots, and Faye Marsay, known for roles in The White Queen, Game of Thrones and Andor, as Lizzie. The season is reportedly set to premiere in August.
