The reveal comes in Issue #13, released today, and marks a significant turning point for the storyline that began after Thor's death and the destruction of the Rainbow Bridge in "The Immortal Thor". This development is notable for arriving just months before Chris Hemsworth's Thor returns to the big screen in "Avengers: Doomsday" this December, offering a contrasting vision of the character's legacy in the comics.

Written by Al Ewing, "The Mortal Thor" has followed the spirit of Thor living on as an ordinary, powerless man named Sigurd Jarlson after mortals' memories of the gods were erased. Issue #13, however, shifts focus back to Asgard, showing Magni's coronation overshadowed by grief for his slain companion Blackjack O'Hare, killed in Issue #8 by an arrow fired by Magni's own mother, Amora the Enchantress. The preview suggests Amora, who orchestrated events to force her son onto the throne in pursuit of All-Mother power, is far from finished with her scheming, setting up further conflict for the newly crowned Magni.
