A new martial arts action film has debuted on Netflix and quickly become one of the streamer's most-watched titles, arriving weeks after two other martial arts hits, Blades of the Guardians and The Furious, also proved popular on the platform. The film has been likened to a mix of John Wick and Jason Statham's Crank, and its success suggests audiences retain a strong appetite for the genre, with three such titles finding an audience at home in quick succession this year.

The new film shares more in common with The Furious, a contemporary thriller, than with the period epic Blades of the Guardians, and notably both were shot in Thailand. Unlike The Furious, which kept its setting deliberately vague as a generic Southeast Asian backdrop, the new Netflix release is explicitly set in Thailand and features a Thai cast. It follows in the footsteps of strong critical and audience reception for its predecessors, with Blades of the Guardians and The Furious scoring 94% and 97% respectively with critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and 96% and 95% with audiences.
