‘Clueless’ Sequel Series With Alicia Silverstone Ordered at Paramount+
Developing story first seen 4 hours ago
Paramount+ has ordered a six-episode present-day sequel to *Clueless*, with Alicia Silverstone returning as Cher Horowitz. The series revives the 1995 Paramount film for a new generation, centring on Cher’s difficulties parenting her teenage daughter despite her success in business and motherhood.
The project was previously developed at Peacock but was dropped there before moving to Paramount+, where it will be produced solely by CBS Studios. Production is planned for Los Angeles in 2027, subject to California tax subsidies; Josh Schwartz, Stephanie Savage and Jordan Weiss will write and executive-produce alongside Silverstone, Amy Heckerling and Robert Lawrence. The order also supports Paramount+’s effort to expand its female-focused programming following the Paramount-Skydance merger.
