Rolling Stone · 4 hours ago

Rolling Stone has shared an exclusive clip of the Grateful Dead performing ‘Brown-Eyed Women’ at Giants Stadium on 17 June 1991, ahead of this year’s Grateful Dead Meet-Up At The Movies screenings. The concert is significant because it is widely regarded by fans and the band’s archivist as one of the strongest shows of the group’s 1990s era.

The line-up included Jerry Garcia, Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kreutzmann, Mickey Hart, Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick, with ‘Dark Star’ motifs appearing six times during the performance. Recorded on 48-track analogue tape and mixed by Jeffrey Norman, the show will screen on 8 and 10 August; audiences will also see a preview of ‘Shakedown Street’ from the forthcoming Summer Magic 1985 box set.
