John Leguizamo is in negotiations to join Matt Damon in an untitled Universal event film from Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, known collectively as Daniels. The project would reunite Leguizamo and Damon after their work on The Odyssey, and adds another prominent performer to Daniels’ next film following their acclaimed breakthrough with Everything Everywhere All at Once.

The cast already includes Sandra Oh, Sean Kaufman, Michael Gandolfini and Charles Melton, while plot details remain confidential. Daniels are writing, directing and producing with Jonathan Wang through Playgrounds; filming is due to begin later in 2026, with Leguizamo reportedly being considered for the final major role.
