Lumines Remastered, a modernised version of the PSP puzzle game, has launched for iOS and Android phones and tablets. The release gives players another portable way to access the rhythm-based block puzzler, with touch controls as well as gamepad support, and may broaden the game’s audience beyond PC, console and Amazon Luna users.

The mobile edition includes more than 40 levels, electronic music spanning house, trance and techno, local same-device multiplayer and online leaderboards. Players can try the opening levels and a time-attack mode free of charge; the full game costs $8 initially, rising to $10, compared with $15 on PC and consoles. Its soundtrack has also arrived on streaming services, while developer Enhance released the newer Lumines Arise last autumn.
