Marvel has cancelled Wonder Man’s second season only four months after renewing it, prompting lead actor Yahya Abdul-Mateen II to thank viewers while acknowledging the setback. The reversal is notable because the Disney+ comedy had received strong reviews and an Emmy nomination for Abdul-Mateen, despite concerns that it had not attracted a large audience.

The series, launched in January 2026, followed Abdul-Mateen’s struggling actor Simon alongside Ben Kingsley’s Trevor Slattery as they navigated Hollywood. Marvel and Disney have not explained the decision; however, it comes amid broader Disney+ spending reductions, with only Vision Quest and Daredevil: Born Again season three currently in post-production among Marvel’s live-action television plans.
