‘New Girl’ Star Officially Confirms a Reboot Is Happening
Max Greenfield has said a reboot of the sitcom New Girl is happening, offering the clearest indication yet that the former Fox series could return eight years after it ended. The update matters because a revival has long been rumoured and sought by fans, while recent sitcom revivals have shown that familiar casts and settings can still attract large audiences.
Speaking on Today with Jenna & Sheinelle, Greenfield said, “As far as I know, it’s happening”, and added that he had seen scripts which he described as “amazing”. No broadcaster, release date, format, plot or full cast commitment has yet been confirmed; the original Elizabeth Meriwether-created comedy ran from 2011 to 2018 and starred Zooey Deschanel, Jake Johnson and Greenfield.
