Ridley Scott’s First Sci-Fi Movie in 9 Years Finally Arrives This August
Ridley Scott’s dystopian science-fiction film The Dog Stars is due for release on 28 August, marking his first return to the genre since Alien: Covenant in 2018. The release is notable because Scott is closely associated with science fiction through films including Alien and Blade Runner, while his recent directing work has focused on historical epics.
The film stars Jacob Elordi and Josh Brolin, with Margaret Qualley, Guy Pearce and Benedict Wong in supporting roles. It had originally been scheduled for March but was delayed to allow further editing and post-production work; Scott has recently been active as a producer, including on Alien: Earth.
