FX’s nine-episode drama Say Nothing is based on Patrick Radden Keefe’s non-fiction book and examines the human cost of the Troubles in Northern Ireland. The series is presented as a nuanced crime thriller rather than a simple partisan account, using personal stories to explore how violence, loss and political pressure shaped those involved.

Its central figures are IRA members Dolours and Marian Price, whose younger selves and later lives are portrayed through a dual-timeline structure. Drawing partly on interviews from the Belfast Project, the drama covers events from the 1969 riots through later decades, including the sisters’ involvement in the 1973 Old Bailey bombing and subsequent hunger strikes.
