Kathryn Bigelow’s 2012 thriller *Zero Dark Thirty* is set to arrive on Netflix, 13 years after its release. The film dramatises the CIA’s decade-long search for Osama bin Laden and remains notable for its awards success, political controversy and depiction of US counterterrorism operations.

Jessica Chastain leads as a composite CIA analyst, supported by James Gandolfini, Jason Clarke, Kyle Chandler and Mark Strong. Chris Pratt appears in one of his earliest major action roles as a Seal Team Six operative; the 157-minute film followed Bigelow’s Oscar-winning *The Hurt Locker*, although both films have drawn criticism from some observers as propagandistic.
