The Manchester indie band James withdrew from their headline slot at the Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival on 1 August 2026 after frontman Tim Booth lost his voice to a viral infection. Festival producer Dougie Brown said losing a headliner was rare but that health had to come first, acknowledging that fans of the band would be disappointed by the cancellation, which James said they hardly ever resort to.

Razorlight stepped in to cover the vacant headline slot, while Scottish singer Cammy Barnes, who had performed at Belladrum on Thursday, was drafted in to play the main Hot House stage after impressing organisers with the crowd he drew. More than 20,000 people are attending the festival near Beauly between Thursday and Saturday, which has also featured performances from Callum Beattie, Mika, The Human League, Rizzle Kicks and Scouting for Girls. Booth posted a video explaining he had been fighting off the infection for days and could no longer sing; James still have tour dates planned in Portugal next week and in Norwich on 20 August.
