Reform UK is proposing what it describes as a historic military operation in the English Channel to intercept small boats carrying migrants and redirect them to northern France. The party's home affairs spokesman characterised the initiative as a humanitarian rescue mission, drawing on Spain's recent deployment of military forces in Ceuta, where forces reportedly processed tens of thousands of migrants attempting to cross from Morocco within a single day.

The proposal faces substantial criticism from defence analysts, who argue Britain lacks the naval capacity to execute such an operation and that deploying warships would constitute an inefficient use of military assets. A former Royal Navy commander also highlighted that France has already rejected similar approaches and is unlikely to accept migrants delivered by the Royal Navy to its territory—a prospect that could render the entire scheme unworkable. Reform acknowledges potential French resistance but suggests negotiations would be necessary to secure cooperation.
