Apple TV's multiversal sci-fi thriller Dark Matter is officially returning for its second season on 28 August 2026, more than two years after its acclaimed first outing. The show, based on Blake Crouch's award-winning novel of the same name and starring Joel Edgerton and Jennifer Connelly, sees Crouch continue as writer and producer. Its return matters as it comes amid a strong run for Apple TV, which currently boasts several shows near the top of the streaming charts.

Season 1 adapted Crouch's entire novel, meaning Season 2 will head into new, unadapted territory for the story. Collider has partnered with Apple TV to debut an exclusive sneak peek ahead of the premiere. Elsewhere on the platform, Silo, starring Rebecca Ferguson, currently tops the streaming charts, closely followed by Anya Taylor-Joy's Lucky and Javier Bardem's Cape Fear.
