A trailer has been released for "I Is Another," a post-World War Two drama starring Claes Bang as Felix Kersten, the controversial masseur to SS leader Heinrich Himmler, ahead of its world premiere at the Locarno Film Festival this week. Directed by Felix Randau, the film examines the disputed legacy of Kersten, who claimed to have used his influence with Himmler to save tens of thousands of lives, but whose account has since faced considerable scrutiny.

The story unfolds through an imagined 1952 train journey Kersten takes from Germany to Oslo, where he hopes to be awarded the Nobel Prize. En route, journalist Hedda, played by Valerie Pachner, confronts him with evidence challenging his heroic self-portrayal, triggering a tense psychological duel. Kersten had claimed credit for saving around 60,000 Jewish people and for helping thwart a plan to deport the Dutch population to Eastern Europe. The film is produced by Ostlicht Filmproduktion with WEGA Film, in collaboration with German and European broadcasters, with Beta Cinema handling international sales; it marks Randau's return to Locarno following his 2017 film "Iceman."
