The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

Lionsgate is progressing with The Housemaid's Secret, the follow-up to its successful thriller property, bringing back director Paul Feig and lead Sydney Sweeney alongside new additions Brittany Snow, Kirsten Dunst, and Paul Anthony Kelly. Adapted from McFadden's second novel in the series, the film again features protagonist Millie Calloway assuming housemaid duties for a wealthy household, where she begins investigating suspicious circumstances among the residents. Michele Morrone reprises his earlier role, and the production involves multiple producers including Sweeney through her banner Honey Trap.

Snow's involvement underscores her growing prominence following recent work in horror and television dramas including Netflix's The Beast in Me and prestige projects like The Night Agent. The sequel is scheduled to arrive in cinemas December 2027, with production commencing later this year. Studio executives have signalled their intention to greenlight additional adaptations from McFadden's Housemaid literary catalogue, suggesting the property could yield multiple sequels.
