Numan Acar Joins Universal’s ‘The Mummy’ As Kevin J. O’Connor And Oded Fehr Ink Deals To Return
Turkish-German actor Numan Acar has joined Universal's forthcoming 'Mummy' installment, reuniting the franchise's original leads Brendan Fraser, Rachel Weisz, and John Hannah. Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett are steering the adventure project from screenwriter David Coggeshall, with production overseen by returning franchise producer Sean Daniel.
Two actors from the 1999 original and 2001 sequel have committed to returning: Kevin J. O'Connor, whose film credits include 'There Will Be Blood' and 'The Master,' originally played villain Beni Gabor, whilst Israeli performer Oded Fehr, recently seen in 'House of David' and Star Trek productions, reprises his role as the Medjai warrior Ardeth Bay. Acar, known for television appearances in 'Homeland' and 'Young Sherlock,' joins the ensemble with character details unrevealed. The film is set for theatrical release in October 2027.
