When Kevin Met Calvin: Backstreet Boys’ Kevin Richardson & Snoop Dogg ‘Finally’ Meet After Viral Twin Memes

Backstreet Boys member Kevin Richardson and rapper Snoop Dogg finally met in person at the red-carpet premiere of Paw Patrol: The Dino Movie, ending a running joke that had circulated online since 2024 comparing Richardson's appearance to Snoop's. The Backstreet Boys' official social media accounts marked the encounter with photos of the pair hugging and shaking hands, captioned "It finally happened… iykyk," referencing viral memes and side-by-side photo comparisons that dubbed Richardson a "white Snoop Dogg."

The meeting was arranged around shared involvement in the animated film: Snoop voices the character Dave in the movie, due for release on 16 August, while the Backstreet Boys recorded the track "Bottle Up" for its soundtrack. Fellow musicians including Lance Bass and Muni Long joined in the online reaction to the photos. Richardson and his bandmates remain mid-residency at the Las Vegas Sphere until 29 August, while Snoop is set to be the subject of a Universal Pictures biopic due in US cinemas on 6 August 2027.
