Sony and Marvel's *Spider-Man: Brand New Day* has broken box office records over its opening weekend, delivering the biggest domestic opening in history and surpassing *Avengers: Endgame*'s long-standing 2019 record. Globally, it posted the second-biggest debut ever and has already crossed the $1 billion mark within its first week, outperforming previous entries in Tom Holland's Spider-Man franchise as well as Tom Hardy's *Venom* films.
