Charli XCX has recorded an intimate acoustic session and interview at BBC's Maida Vale studios, offering fans a stripped-back look at songs from her new album 'Music, Fashion, Film'. The recording, made for BBC Music's 'Live At The BBC' series, sees her perform four tracks and discuss the creative process and personal meaning behind several of the album's songs, giving listeners deeper insight into the record shortly after its release.

The session, available on iPlayer from midday BST on Wednesday 5 August, features performances of 'I'm Afraid', 'SS26', 'Wink Wink' and 'No One Lasts Forever'. In conversation with Radio 1's Jack Saunders, Charli explained that '2007' reflects on the democratising, "Warholian" nature of TikTok fame, while 'Wink Wink' addresses feeling misunderstood by past partners, contrasting this with her relationship with husband and The 1975 drummer George Daniel. She also described lead single 'Rock Music' as capturing the joy of creating with friends, pushing back against perceptions that her work is purely ironic.
