Prime Video's new YA drama "Sterling Point," created by Megan Park and executive produced by Margot Robbie's LuckyChap, has been praised in a Variety review for elevating the genre beyond typical teen romance storylines. Unlike recent YA hits such as "The Summer I Turned Pretty" and "Cruel Intentions," which focus heavily on romance and sexual awakening, the series is described as tackling grief, self-discovery and confronting the past, making it one of the more authentic entries in the genre in years.

The show follows 17-year-old Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin), a high-achieving Manhattan teenager who learns, after her estranged maternal grandfather Gordon dies, that she and her twin brother Connor have inherited a trust and a property called Sterling Point in Muskoka, Canada. Annie travels there and uncovers family secrets, including Ramona (Amélie Hoeferle), a stoic young woman who resembles Annie's late mother and also claims Gordon as her grandfather. The cast includes Jay Duplass, Bo Bragason, Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Keen Ruffalo, with the review highlighting the series' emotional depth and visual beauty.
