James Gunn has confirmed that Superman will sport a new costume in the upcoming DCU sequel Man of Tomorrow, following criticism of the suit worn by David Corenswet in the first film. Set photos from the Atlanta shoot show the updated outfit, which Gunn verified via Threads is a genuinely new design rather than a reused costume, addressing one of the few points of fan contention from the otherwise well-received Superman.

The revised suit keeps the overall design faithful to the original but introduces several refinements: it is tighter and more form-fitting with fewer visible folds, the House of El crest is larger and sits higher on the chest, and the neckline now has a higher collar with a deeper front notch. The blue tone has shifted from the brighter cyan of the first film to a richer royal blue closer to the classic comics, and even the red trunks have been tweaked, with their gold belt loops now angled diagonally rather than running vertically.
