Richard Madden to Star in Hostage Thriller Series ‘Trauma’ for Prime Video UK, Paramount+ (EXCLUSIVE)
Richard Madden has been cast to lead a new hostage thriller series titled "Trauma," which will stream on Prime Video in the UK and Ireland and on Paramount+ elsewhere in the world, Variety reports. The project marks a co-production deal brokered by Lionsgate Television and 42 Management & Production, bringing together two major streamers for a single global series and highlighting the growing trend of split-territory distribution deals in television.
Madden will play Jim Marchant, a former Royal Marines medic turned ER doctor, who must fight through a London hospital floor by floor after terrorists take it over and hold the Prime Minister hostage during surgery. The series was created and written by Geoff Bussetil ("Slow Horses"), with Daniel Syrkin ("Tehran," "Mobland") directing and executive producing alongside Madden, 42's Ben Pugh and Ben Cavey, producer Chrissy Skinns and co-producer Chris Kennedy. Madden, best known for "Game of Thrones" and a Golden Globe-winning turn in "Bodyguard," continues a run of high-profile TV roles that also includes "Citadel" and the upcoming Netflix series "Trinity."
